Some even use carrier crates during traveling, since pet owners can place the cages inside of a suitcase or carry-on luggage.

So which one is better? Ultimately, it comes down to your pet's needs. A hamster will obviously need more space than a mouse would, but neither animal is too small to enjoy a quality cage or carrier. Consider your pet's lifestyle when choosing the right pet products. If your pet rarely goes out of its cage, then a simple plastic carrier will be fine, while a full-sized hamster will need a very sturdy metal cage with a lot of space to maneuver around in.
